Médecins sans Frontières (MSF) Luxembourg issued a statement on Friday reminding the Luxembourg public that the organisation does not accept cash donations after reports emerged of two people impersonating MSF representatives asking for contributions in Cactus carpark in Echternach on Thursday.

MSF stated that its teams, which are recognisable due to their clothing and badge with the MSF logo, ask people looking to support the organisation to fill in a form committing to donating money. Such campaigns are also always conducted next to a stand filled with MSF promotional material. Actions are currently underway in different parts of Luxembourg and will run until early July 2016.

MSF further emphasised that anyone who donates to MSF receives a thank you letter and a tax certificate as well as regular information on the organisation's projects.

Anyone who encounters a peron attempting to collect cash donations on behalf of Médecins sans Frontières is asked to inform the association and if they are in any doubt, they are able to call the Donors Service at 33 25 15.
