16 organisations from Luxembourg's aviation sector have united to condemn the potential outsourcing of national air space control.
A statement signed by the 16 agencies criticised the approach taken by the Minister of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, François Bausch, which it was claimed did not seriously take into account the concerns of Findel airport stakeholders.
The organisations alleged that the minister did not have the evidence necessary to justify the relocation of services related to security and national sovereignty.
"The signatory organisations of this statement would like to express together their great concern about this relocation project," the statement read. "They do not understand why the minister refuses to consider the advice of experts and air space users. A question then is: who is advising the Minister in this decision that may be heavy with consequences?"
The statement urged the organisations' and associations' arguments to be considered in his decision, saying that playing around the country's national airport would be at odds with Minister Bausch's support of a growth plan for the airport and his claims as to the importance of the sector.
