A second Convention of the National Information Unit for Urban Policy (CIPU) has been signed between the cities of Luxembourg, Esch-sur-Alzette and Dudelange and the Ministers of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, François Bausch, and of Housing, Marc Hansen, aiming to increase cooperative at the European, national and local levels in this area.

With the convention, the actors involved pledged to further promote exchanges between urban policy actors in Europe and Luxembourg to promote greater consideration of the needs identified in local urban spaces in the Grand Duchy.

Through this agreement, the parties are able to further identify the challenges and needs of cities; supply an online electronic library on the urban development projects, initiatives and practices carried out by Luxembourg actors; carry out awareness and public information projects and public participation in projects funded by the EU; engage in active exchange with points of contact in Luxembourg and European programmes, as well as the University of Luxembourg and the LISER research centre; regularly update the www.cipu.lu website and the targeted communication of information, through media such as brochures and newsletters.

Ministers Bausch and Hansen have agreed to participate financially at 50%, in the costs. Similarly, contracting cities have committed to a financial participation covering the remaining 50%.

An external provider will be mandated to manage the above tasks, for which the CIPU partners will launch a tender in September.
