Students at the Mersch annexe of the Lycée classique de Diekirch have been kept home from school on Friday after certain pupils showed symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning.

As a precaution whilst analyses are waiting for final results, the Ministry of Education stated on Thursday evening that all students were exempt from attending classes on 1 July 2016.

A reception service has been organised by the school's management, with students greeted in the courtyard and taken by teachers to other premises of the municipality, where they will be supervised during school hours.
