The Information and Press Service of the Luxembourg Government and the national statistics portal STATEC have launched a new application to paint a picture of diversity in the Grand Duchy.

Entitled Exploring Luxembourg, the app is available in French, English and German on the App Store, Google Play and the Windows Store. Short texts are illustrated with photos, maps and interactice graphics, with users apple to flick between chapters and scroll down for more information.

Once downloaded, the application can be accessed offline, meaning that it can be used anywhere, at any time. Users can zoom in to view details of the text in a larger format and users can navigate using arrows or selecting a specific theme.

Themes include, among others, geography, highlighting natural regions and tourist areas, as well as the country's climate; culture, revealing national UNESCO World Heritage Sites, literature, theatre and dance, visual arts, festivals and traditions; and population, demonstrating population states and demographics, showing a multicultural society and various religions.

Each topic also provides links to relevant portals and websites, enabling the user to learn more about the subject matter before returning to the application.
