On Wednesday afternoon, Luxembourg's Ministry of State has issued an update on drinking water in towns to the east the country that suffered the worst of the storms last Friday night.

Following the results of the most recent analyses carried out by the laboratory of the Administration of water management, human water consumption is now authorised again in the town of Reisdorf. On Tuesday, residents of Nommern and Larochette, as well as in the towns of Ermsdorf, Stegen, Eppeldorf and Folkendange, were informed that tap water was now safe again to drink without the need for boiling beforehand.

However, for tap water to be consumed in Medernach, Savelborn and Freckeisen, it must still first be boiled for 10 minutes before human consumption.

The authorities are continuing the distribution of bottled water at the primary school in Medernach, from 07:00 - 19:00 daily, and will continue until Friday 29 July at 16:00, unless otherwise communicated.
