The Ville de Luxembourg has announced a “Family Play day” which will take place on Saturday 1 October at Cercle Cité on Place d’Armes, in collaboration with the Centre for Educational Amusement and Hobbies (Capel), the Conservatoire of the City of Luxembourg and the Cité Library.

The fun day will take place from 10:00 until 17:00 and will allow younger and older people alike to discover new games, musical instruments and stories.

Schedule

-10:00-17:00: board games and wooden toys on the ground floor of the Cercle Cité;

-10:30-11:30: dance and reading workshops on the subject of ballet for children aged between four and eight in Cercle Cité’s “grande salle”. Registration: tuffi@vdl.lu or 4796-2732;

-14:00-17:00: concerts and introductions to different musical instruments, such as the trombone, the horn, the piano and the saxophone. Registration not required;

-16:00-17:00: music and stories by the storyteller Anne-Karen Tournemire and the musician Arian Lishi, for example, the stories of Melusine, and the Frog Prince. Language is French. Registration not required.

Participation is free of charge.

Please note that on the same day, Handicap International will be organising its traditional pyramid of shoes in the Place d’Armes in order to act against the use of mines and cluster bombs.
