The Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) has annoucned that it has received its 111,111th visitor to the Casemates du Bock during the 2016 tourist season in Luxembourg.

The Casemates du Bocks are now the leading tourist attraction in the capital of Luxembourg and once part of the defense of the old fortress city, the famous "Gibraltar of the North". Excavated by the Austrians in 1745-1746, these underground galleries spread over an area of 1,100 m2 and could accommodate a garrison of 1,200 soldiers with their equipment and about fifty guns. Today, the visit provides a spectacular ride and panoramic views of the Grund district, Pfaffenthal and on the Kirchberg plateau.
