The Government is cancelling its plans for construction of a refugee centre at Steinfort following the decision of the Administrative Court this Tuesday upholding the Administrative Tribunal’s ruling that the project could not continue until environmental impact studies of the site had been completed.

The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure made the announcement today, and said that studies of the site, in progress for the last two months, will continue.

The launch of a new land-use plan for the site has not been ruled out by the Ministry, which is awaiting decisions on the proposed centres at Junglinster and Mamer.
