Luxembourg's Customs and Excise Administration (Administration des douanes et accises) has confirmed that it has intercepted the largest-ever haul of ecstasy tablets at Findel airport.

As a result of an investigation, officers of the Anti-Drugs Department from the Customs administration succeeded in catching a 49-year-old man, who was intending to travel from the Luxembourg to Brazil. In the man's luggage , almost 15,000 ecstasy pills were discovered hidden. The drugs have an estimated value on the black market of around €150,000.

The public prosecutor ordered the drug to be confiscated. The man was arrested and has been sentenced to 24 months imprisonment by the criminal court in Luxembourg.
