On Tuesday, William McDonough, architect, designer and pioneer of sustainable development, ws received in audience by Grand Duke Henri at the royal palace in Luxembourg city centre.

Mr. McDonough, whose work is known and recognised around the world, specialises in circular economics. The aim is to rethink production and consumption patterns in order to optimise the use of natural resources, limit waste generated and maximise recycling opportunities.

In line with the strategic study "Third Industrial Revolution" of the American economist Jeremy Rifkin, the transition to a circular economy is considered an economic priority for Luxembourg.

Mr. McDonough is the keynote speaker at the Luxembourg Circular Economy Hotspot Conference in the presence of His Royal Highness the Hereditary Grand Duke.
