A man has been arrested over the use of counterfeit and stolen documents at Luxembourg Findel Airport.

On Monday 17 July, a man was inspected at the border control area on his way out of Findel airport. Upon verification of the foreign identification, staff found that the document had been reported as stolen. When asked for another form of ID, the man then presented his driving license, which turned out to be a fake.

When asked about the facts, the man claimed that he had a different nationality to that of the documents and that he planned to return to his country of origin on 20 July 2017.

The authorities subsequently informed the Department of Foreign Police of the incident, who thereupon informed the responsible ministry. The prosecutor's office was also informed and ordered the arrest of the man and the seizure of counterfeits.
