Secretary of State and State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of the Swiss Confederation (SECO), Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch visited the Grand Duchy yesterday to discuss Luxembourg-Swiss relations with Secretary of State for the Economy, Francine Closener.

Talks focused on strengthening these bilateral relations through cooperation in the space, ICT and research sectors, as well as collaboration in the field of tourism.

Within the context of discussions on current and future devlopments of the Helvetian-Luxembourg economy, it emerged that the two countried were highly complementary in the areas of ICT and research, including sustainable construction. Closer cooperation in these sectors was therefore deemed promising and a potential area for development.

Under the auspices of the economic mission in Switzerland taking place in 2016, it was agreed to organise a joint event promoting, amongst others, the space sector.
