On Tuesday 1 December 2015, the Luxembourg Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Jean Asselborn, will visit Brussels to take stock of the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU) in the area of trade policy before the Committee on International Trade of the European Parliament.

The Minister will present the work of the Luxembourg Presidency in this context, with the report allowing for the recollection of the Presidency priorities presented by Minister Asselborn before the Commission in July 2015 and for the assessment of achievements and advancements made regarding different issues.

The Foreign Minister is expected to deliver, in particular, an appraisal of the evolution of key legislative files, ongoing negotiations at the bilateral, plurilateral and multilateral levels, as well as major issues such as transparency. The presentation will then be followed by a Q&A session.

The Minister's appearance before the Parliament will follow the 'Foreign Affairs' - Trade Council of the EU which was held in Brussels last Friday.
