On Wednesday lucnhtime, Luxembourg's Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel, called a press conference to announce a reorganisation of the government; Maggy Nagel has handed in her resignation at the government's cabinet meeting on Wednesday morning.

The cabinet mini-reshuffle sees Maggy Nagel, Minister of Culture and Minister of Housing, leave the government. PM Bettel thanked the former Mayor of Mondorf-les-Bains for her two years work as government Minister and explained that the external pressure had become too much for her. She has just returned from a 2-day trip to Russia where she represented Luxembourg at the 4th International Cultural Forum held in St. Petersburg on 14 and 15 December 2015.

Regarding the Housing portfolio, PM Bettel announced that Marc Hansen - until now Secretary of State for Housing and Secretary of State for Higher Education and Research - has been promoted to Minister of Housing. His previous position has been changed to Minister-Delegate for Higher Education.

The new Minister for Culture will be Xavier Bettel will assume that role along with his existing titles of Minister of State, Minister of Religion and Minister of Media and Telecommunications. He will be supported by Guy Arendt, the deputy mayor of Walferdange, who becomes Secretary of State for Culture.

 Claude Lamberty becomes a member of parliament (deputy) to replace Guy Arendt.
