Luxembourg Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Jean Asselborn, will be joining the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union taking place on Monday in the Grand Duchy.

The Council is expected to discuss the EU's integrated policy for the Arctic region and to adopt conclusions.

Ministers will review the situation in the Sahel and the overall EU approach on security and development in the region. The High Representative will brief ministers on the ministerial meeting of the G5 Sahel, held in Brussels on 17 June. The Council is expected to adopt conclusions.

Ministers will discuss the situation in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.

Over lunch, the ministers will then discuss the peace process in the Middle East, following the Paris conference held on 3 June 2016.
