The Minister of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy of Luxembourg, Nicolas Schmit, flew to Paris on Friday to attend a conference on social innovation in Europe.

The Minister attended the event at the invitation of the Secretary of State for the Social and Solidarity Economy, Martine Pinville.

It was to extend the European dynamic launched by Minister Nicolas Schmit during the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union that the #ScaleMeUp approach was conceived and implemented.

The voluntary Member States were represented with the clear political goal of reaching a shared recognition of this avant-guard economy for the end of 2016.

"The social and solidarity economy will take its place in a changing European economy creating jobs, promoting innovation and recalling that there is no good economy without social justice," Nicolas Schmit declared in his introductory speech.
