On 14 and 15 November 2016, Luxembourg Minister for Cooperation and Humanitarian Action, Romain Schneider, undertook a work visit to Senegal.

On the occasion of the 12th partnership commission, of which Minister Romain Schneider was co-president with the Senegalese Minister for Professional Training, Learning and Crafts, Mamadou Talla. This formally allowed the prolonging if the third indicative cooperative programme (2012-2016) until the end of 2017, thus allowing thus allowing the Coopération luxembourgeoise to align itself with Senegal’s national policies and strategies and to coordinate with other technical and financial partners on the field.

In addition, the partners had the opportunity to exchange views on the subject of the main elements of the programme’s mid-term review and its five components, which took place last year.

Besides the partnership Commission, Minister Schneider briefly met the Senegalese Minister for Water and Health, Mansour Faye, and the Minister of Local Governance, Development and Land Management, Abdiulaye Diouf Sarr, to discuss subjects of common interest.

The meeting was followed by a traditional political dialogue with the Minister of the Economy, Finance and Planning, Amadou Ba, and the joint launch of the “Guide for Budgetary Aid”.
Moreover, Romain Schneider participated in the official launch of the third phase of the AIDS project Frontieres et Vulnérabilités au VIH en Afrique de l’Ouest (FEVE III), implemented by the international ENDA-Santé, based in Dakar, with the help of the Luxembourgish charity Stop Aids Now/Access.
