At the end of April this year, the number of resident jobseekers registered with the ADEM stood at 16,040, one thousand fewer than in April 2016 and representing a fall of 5.9% over the course of the year.  

The unemployment rate stood at 6.0%, ie at the same level as in March 2017 and 0.5% below the level of April 2016.

The decline is widespread and also benefits vulnerable job-seekers, such as job seekers with health problems (-5.9% over one year), low-skilled job-seekers (-9.7%) and job seekers Persons registered for at least 12 months (-7.7%).

During April 2017, 1,385 people registered for ADEM, of whom 476 were registering for the first time. This corresponds to 34% of all registrations. The number of all registrations decreased by 4.7% compared to April 2016 and that of the first registrations decreased by 0.7% over the same period.

 

At the end of April 2017, 5,283 people were assigned to an employment measure. This figure is down 3.2% from April 2016, when 5,458 people were assigned to an employment measure.

 

In April 2017, employers declared 2,699 ADEM vacancies, equivalent to an increase of 1.1% from April 2016.
