The Luxembourg support group for immigrant workers, ASTI, says that it regrets the lack of government willingness to incorporate the transposition of the European Directive on measures for protection of workers into the timetable for legislative work in a timely manner.

The association highlights, among other things, that the bill proposed, No. 7102, appears to guarantee equal rights only for Luxembourgers under Article 10bis

ASTI said that it welcomes the willingness of the authors of the draft law to attach the Centre for Equal Treatment (CET) to the Chamber of Deputies, thus conferring on it a certain independence vis-à-vis the executive.

In addition, the association felt that grouping administrative resources within a House of Human Rights with various bodies (ORK, CCDH, Mediator, CET) is struck at the corner of common sense. This will allow economies of scale to be achieved. It will also be possible to contribute to the creation of a "brand" of Human Rights, an essential measure in terms of perception among the general public, "Leit dobaussen", to use a formula often used by politicians. In this context, it is most regrettable that the CCDH prefers to remain attached to the government. A House of Human Rights, in all respects independent of the executive power would have been a strong signal.
