On 8 July 2017, elections will be held for the appointment of representatives of foreigners to the National Council for Foreigners (CNE).

The Luxembourg Office for Hospitality and Integration has issued a call for those with ideas, concrete proposals on integration or who want to get involved, to become a candidate for the election of the CNE. 

The CNE is an advisory body established by law, which is responsible for studying, either on its own initiative or at the request of the government, matters concerning foreigners and their integration.

Any person of a non-Luxembourg nationality, who is 18 years of age on election day and domiciled in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and is not deprived of his or her right to vote, may participate as a candidate in the elections and make a commitment.

22 representatives and 22 alternate representatives will be elected.

Candidates must declare themselves or be registered with the Luxembourg Office for Reception and Integration (OLAI) at least eight days before the date fixed for the ballot, 30 June 2017 at the latest.

Simply send a declaration with full name, nationality, date of birth, domicile and profession. This declaration, dated and signed, is a commitment to not withdrawing the application.

The nomination paper shall be accompanied by:

Copy of a birth certificate,
A document documenting the candidate's nationality,
Of an extract from the criminal record no. 3.
