Frankfurt-Hahn Airport has announced the establishment of a subsidiary to take over the operation of its tank storage facility.

This new company, entitled "Jet Fuel Hahn", will reportedly cut costs and increase efficiency to the parent company. It will be responsible for the logistics of the airport's kerosene depot.

"We have decided to take over the operations of the incumbent operator Shell/BP," explained Roger Scheifele, the new managing director of Jet Fuel Hahn.

The tank storage facility at the airport has a capacity of 1.2 million litres. "We are the central infrastructure link between the delivery of the kerosene and fuelling the aircraft," added Scheifele. Delivery is passed through the oil companies, refuelling occurs through the company RAS, also a long-term partner at the site.

"In our role as an outlet for the furl we can use the newly-established subsidiary in cooperation with the airport synergies and reduce costs in the long term," concluded Scheifele.

The creation of the new company forms part of the airport's restoration programme as a means of rendering organisation more efficient.
