Last week-end, Luxair sold a total of 111,111 return flights at €99, in addition to thousands at €109 and €119, throughout the three-day Vakanz travel and tourism fair.

The Vakanz fair is a major event for the tourism industry. Last Sunday, it ended on a very positive note for the Luxair Luxembourg Airlines and LuxairTours teams, who provided a warm welcome to 78 hoteliers and incoming agency partners on their 1,700 m2 exhibition stand. Almost 23,000 visitors could discover a wide range of destinations, accommodation, special offers and new products.

Customers were welcomed in a festive atmosphere with a little something for everyone. Children could enjoy the company of the LUXi mascot and LUXiClub leaders in a fun-filled holiday club atmosphere, business meetings were held in the VIP lounge, which had been decorated like a cockpit and all visitors could make the most of a bar run by LuxairGroup teams.

Once again, this year’s sales progressed compared to last year. “We are very satisfied with this edition’s results,” Alberto Kunkel, Executive Vice-President Tour Operating & Sales stated. “Almost one thousand customers opted for special Vakanz Fair LuxairTours deals and no less than 11,111 plane tickets were sold for the exceptional price of €99 over the weekend,” he added. The Metropolis reservations stand - new addition for 2017 - was also a great success amongst visitors, many of whom opted for this product. As for the undecided, they could let themselves be tempted by new destinations, such as Alicante on the Costa Blanca in Spain, Bari and Apulia in Italy, and Biarritz in France. “Vakanz 2017 has created a great dynamic, which we hope will continue throughout the year,” Lidia Mele concluded.
