After the release of the sixth issue of diariesof - dedicated to Peru - the founders of the diariesof travel magazine, Anabela and Jorge Valente, are travelling from Luxembourg to Japan by what they expect to be an epic motorbike road trip.

"The trip will take the time it needs. We do not have any fixed deadlines nor a strict plan. We have an idea about our route, we have an idea of the difficulties we may face, we have studied the map, but the plan is very flexible. Anyway, this is what characterises our way of travelling: little planning so that encounters can happen spontaneously", Jorge explained.

This does not mean that no preparations are made. After leaving Europe through Turkey (or on board a ferry through the Black Sea), their first longer stop will be Georgia, which they intend to discover deeply and perhaps dedicate the next issue of diariesof to this country. After Georgia, Iran is also on their plans. Afterwards they would like to proceed through the Silk Route. Visa requirements are one of the difficulties, as some countries seem to issue visas randomly, like Turkmenistan. China will have to be by-passed completely as the country does not allow foreigners to drive their own vehicles and they also expect the visa process for Russia to be complicated. Mongolia, Kazakstan and Kyrgyzstan will unveil other complexities, such as bad roads and winter which, in this region, cannot be taken lightly. These challenges will definitely determine the route along the way.

To know more about this adventure, have a glimpse of the motorbike or meet the travellers before they depart, join the diariesof event which will take place on 13 July at Bilia-Emond (BMW Motorrad) in Howald (Route de Thionville, 184) starting from 18:30. During the event there will be the opportunity to try some Peruvian specialities, see a small video about Peru, meet other travel enthusiasts and be the first to thumb through the new magazine.

diariesof Peru

This issue features 14 travel stories written by travellers of all types. In this edition, diariesof highlighted the three different regions of the country: the jungle, the coast and the highlands, each with its own feel, geography and traditions. The magazine will take the reader through a journey along the Amazon basin's rainforest, through the marine Paracas National Reserve and Huacachina, the impressive oasis hidden amid the desert dunes not far from the mysterious Nazca lines. Long-haul motorbikers, cyclists and backpackers tell their experience in different places of Peru and will inspire those that seek their next travel destination.

The issue diariesof Peru is now on sale at several bookshops (Ernster, Libo, Alinéa, Diderich, Chapter 1, The Book Loft) and in some selected kiosks.

With a circulation of 2,000 copies per issue, this is the sixth publication of the 164-page magazine which made its appearance through crowdfunding in 2014, when it attracted more than 150 backers. To date, diariesof has over 60 contributors of different nationalities. They are experienced travellers, writers and photographers who share their stories with the reader, as well as their passion for travel and the world. Together they have written about more than 60 different countries so far.
