On 13 March 2017, Special Olympics Luxembourg presented its sportspeople at the Amphitheatre de la Coque.

On the eve of the departure of the Luxembourg delegation participating in the World Winter Games in Austria (Schladming / Graz), Special Olympics Luxembourg held this presentation of its sportsmen.

Luxembourg will be represented at the World Winter Games by a delegation of 24 sportspeople participating in four sports disciplines (downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and stickshooting). The games will be held from 14 to 25 March 2017 and will feature the participation of some 3,000 athletes from 110 countries.

In the framework of this presentation, a partnership agreement was signed by the Secretary of State for Economy, Francine Closener and Pascale Schmoetten, President of Special Olympics Luxembourg.

The Secretary of State for Economy has made it clear that sport is an important vector of a country's image. By wearing the colours of the new Luxembourg Signature during their competitions, the athletes subscribe to the values of the country which are in line with those of sport in general and Special Olympics in particular.
