The Mixed Doubles World Championships in curling has been taking place in Karlstad (Sweden) from 16 - 23 April 2016.
In Group C, Luxembourg finished 5th out of 7 countries, leading to an overall classification of 28th out of 42 countries. The Luxembourg Curling Union has issued a statement in whcih it expressed its pride in "this fantastic result for little Curling-Nation Luxembourg", above Germany (31st) and both Belgium and The Netherlands (37th).
The Luxembourg pairing of Karen WAUTERS and Marco ETIENNE finished their Group C matches with wins over Romania and Kazakhstan, having experienced defeat against Turkey, Japan, Norway and England.
Overall, Russia won Gold, defeating China in the final. Scotland (3rd) and the USA (4th) lost their semi-finals.
