On Friday, Luxembourg played a friendy football against Greece, in Differdange, winning 1-0 in a tight encounter, with the goal coming in the second minute of stoppage time.

Greece had won the two previous encounters between the teams, in 2008 and 2009, and Luxembourg were up for the challenge from the previous European Champions.

The match started off at a high tempo, with both sides having chances in the opening half. The second half saw the home side introduce some fresh legs from the bench. In stoppage time, Thill and Bensi combined to cross the ball for Joachim to score, delighting the small home crowd.

On Tuesday, Luxembourg will play against Portugal in another friendly.
