A new sports craze is sweeping across Europe! "Teqball" is a brand new sport played on a unique table that is essentially based on the massively popular sport, football; the Teqball table serves as a training tool for both professional players and amateur enthusiasts. Teqball is part of Docler Holding, an IT and Media Group founded by Gyorgy Gattyan and headquartered in Luxembourg.

This innovative idea came straight from the dreams of three Hungarians, Gyorgy Gattyan, Gabor Borsany and Viktor Huszar. The entrepreneurial trio wanted to put a new twist on football that was not only accessible to new comers but would also test their technical skills, dexterity and stamina.

Teqball has been an amazing journey until now and we are extremely proud to finally introduce our sport to the world. It is great for developing players’ technical skills, but more importantly, it does this in a fun-filled way. We already have a few big names supporting us and using the Teqball table for training purposes, but also for fun”, Viktor Huszar explained with visible enthusiasm.

Many star athletes from around the world are now eager supporters of Teqball, the latest being Ronaldinho by becoming its global ambassador (https://youtu.be/1zXOQeanTyk or https://goo.gl/6TyM0r). Ronaldinho first came to the media’s attention at the age of 13, when he scored all 23 goals for a 23-0 victory against a local team. His uncanny ability to seemingly maintain total control over the ball, paired with his exploits on the football pitch, earned him the nickname “The Magician”, and many regard him to be one of the best players of his generation. To further prove this point, he has also been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including FIFA World Player of the Year in 2004 and 2005, and the Ballon d'Or in 2005.

Ronaldinho is not the only one endorsing Teqball however, many other former players are also supporting the project, such as the Koeman brothers, Marco Materazzi, Lothar Matthäus, Henk ten Cate, Nicolas Anelka, Louis Saha, Gianfranco Zola, Roby Langers and Zico, just to mention a few. I am thrilled to be part of Teqball. The sport really does pay homage to football in all the right ways, emphasizing the best parts while forgoing the less exciting segments of the game. Teqball is the perfect fusion between technology, player skill and sports”, said Ronaldinho.

During the Press Conference on Tuesday, Marton Fülöp, COO of Docler Holding, noted “Docler Holding has for 15 years been supporting new and original ideas. We are an IT/Technology company and we are passionate about sports. So it was natural for us to create Teqball, which combines our IT expertise and our passion. To have a second ‘Ballon d’Or’ in Luxembourg after Lothar Mattheus this summer, is a real honour for us”.

Roby Langers, Teqball ambassador for Luxembourg, concluded the event saying “I found Teqball to be a refreshing experience. It has enough of the original game’s skill cap to be interesting, you are required to have some technical skill to be a good player, but the game itself is much more forgiving. This will encourage new players to continue the game even if they find themselves on the losing side more often than not.”
