After five matches in the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division III played in Istanbul (Turkey) over the past week, Luxembourg has finished fourth, behind home winners Turkey, South Africa and Georgia.

After a slow start to the tournament, losing to South Africa in the first match, and then again with an outrageous score of ten to two against Turkey, the prospects looked bleak for the Luxembourg team. However, winning their next match against Hong Kong as well as the last match of the tournament against Bosnia and Herzegovina, which they won with an impressive score of 13-0, earned them fourth spot on the total rankings.
