Sailing Passion asbl, organiser of Luxembourg annual schools and corporate sailing events, has announced that preparations are now underway for the 2016/2017 sailing season.
Siggy’s Cup
The first meeting will take place in the CHL auditorium on 29 September, at 18:30, when those present will schedule the sequential meeting dates at this meeting. Anyone interested in participating in the 2017 Siggy’s Cup are welcome to attend this first meeting. It will be a good opportunity to meet with participants and skippers and to learn more about this fantastic event.
The 2017 dates are provisionally Saturday 29 April through Thursday 4 May for the 2017 Siggy’s Cup. However, the organisers are open to suggestions and could make it later in the season as well, possibly from Saturday 13 May through Thursday 18 May 2017. The dates will be decided and the location revealed on 29 September.
Schools' Cup
The first meeting for the School's Cup 2017 is set for Monday 3 October 2016 at the European School Kirchberg. The dates for Schools' cup 2017 are from Saturday 8 April to Saturday 15 April 2017. Following the debriefing with the 2016 skippers, the organisers will announce the changes for 2017.
Due to the tremendous success of the Schools' cup, the organisers are looking for more skippers and co-skippers. In order to avoid one's better half to remain alone at home during that week, she/he is welcome as a co-skipper. Also, the Luxembourg government is helping those who spend their time on training children. Therefore, the days taken to join the Schools' cup will not be deducted from your holidays and refund will be made by the government directly to your employer.
