The Rugby Club Luxembourg (RCL) recently held its Summer Ball and Annual Awards Ceremony at the Hotel Le Royal in Luxembourg Ville.
In the 43rd year of the club's existence this event has become a must-attend event of the club's annual calendar, and 105 members and freinds attended this year's bash.
This is the 43rd year of Rugby Club Luxembourg (RCL) and to celebrate this great achievement, the club will once again host a Summer Ball, on Saturday 11 June from 19:00 at the Hotel Royal in Luxembourg Ville.
Graham Goodhew, as outgoing Vice President, welcomed the guests. Dave Evans received warm thanks for all his hard work as the retiring President.
After the meal, the Annual Awards were handed out, with the laureates as follows:
Club Trophies winners were:
- Senior Player of the Year: Jean-Bapitiste Vert
- Most Improved Player: Raphael Wagener (see photo above)
- Hamish Irwin Award: Alex van Zeeland
- Patterson Award: Steve Howat
- JPMorgan Trophy: Phil Potgieter
Clubman: Liam Fagan
Afew days later, the RCL held its AGM on 9 June and appointed the new Club officers for the year, as follows:
- President: Fred Gabriel
- Secretary & Vice President: Martyn Edwards
- Treasurer: Graham Goodhew
