The Referees Committee of the Luxembourg Rugby Federation will be organising an advanced course for Match Officials on Saturday 29 October and Sunday 30 October, as part of its ongoing programme to increase the quantity and quality of active match officials in the Grand Duchy.

The selected candidates will follow an intensive course to develop their knowledge and skills, and will put those to practical effect by overseeing the busy schedule of matches at the Boy Konen Stadium in Cessange on Saturday – where there are matches at various age grades in the Belgian League plus an important game in the German League between the RCL senior men's XV and TV Pforzheim.

The full panel of active referees will take part, including three officials with experience since 2005 and a number of more recent officials. This course will be an important part in their multistage accreditation process.

The experienced course leaders, Dana Teagarden (Germany) and Johan Meersman (Belgium) are looking forward to guiding them through a number of theory and practical sessions.

Referees committee secretary Ian Dennis said “The course is the first of its kind organised in Luxembourg and comes at an important time in our plan to put Luxembourg on the map in refereeing terms. This is an exciting time to be involved in rugby in Luxembourg, which continues to go from strength to strength".

He expressed thanks to all those who are contributing to making this course possible.
