PMI Luxembourg Chapter is hosting a workshop project performance audits at the Chambre des Métiers on 29 May.
The speaker, Zhivka Kalaydzhieva, has been working as auditor at the European Court of Auditors since 2014, carrying out performance and compliance audits in the field of the European structural and investment funds.
Before that, she was principal auditor and adviser at the Bulgarian National Audit Office. As such, she was team leader of performance audits of EU funds (structural funds and pre-accession instruments) mainly in the field of social policy and regional development. She was also in charge of performance audits' methodology, strategic planning and elaboration the annual audit programme of the Bulgarian National Audit Office.
She participated in different working groups of international audit institutions as representative of the Bulgarian National Audit Office (EUROSAI, INTOSAI and Contact Committee of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the EU). She also delivered presentations in workshops on performance auditing – methodology and practice.
Prior to that, she worked as Expert in the Bulgarian public administration (Bulgarian Presidency and National Assembly). She holds a Ph.D. degree in International Economics from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Her doctoral dissertation thesis is on Institutions and policies of the European Economic and Monetary Union. She also has three Master's degrees from Bulgarian universities and certificates from the Ecole Nationale d'Administration, France and the Civil Service College, UK. She also possesses a certificate “Internal Auditor in the Public Sector” awarded by the Bulgarian Ministry of Finance. She participated in scientific conferences with reports and publications in the field of the Economic and Monetary Union and also on the management of the EU funds. She has also been Chief Assistant Professor at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
