The Aquasud in Oberkorn / Differdange has announced that it will hold a series of events from 20 - 22 June 2017 to mark Drowning Prevention Days.

This initiative of the Vert Marine group aims to educate the public on issues that can lead to saving lives in an aquatic environment.

The events take the form of workshops and educational activities on the subject of "initiation to rescue" for children, with two main objectives:

1) making children aware on the risks of the aquatic environment;

2) training in first aid.

With the support of the Fondation Princesse Charlène de Monaco, the initiative is involving around sixty aquatic centres of the VERT MARINE network, including Luxembourg's Aquasud.

Faced with the many fatal drownings recorded annually and the lack of training and awareness of citizens in first aid measures, it is important to be able to make available such prevention initiatives. It is therefore a public health issue for which swimming pools can play an essential role in warning the numerous audiences that frequent them.

Opening in January 2014, the Aquasud comprises four complementary services: Espace Aquatique; Espace Fitness / Wellness; L’institut de beauté «So Beauty»; and L’espace Lounge Bar.

Programme
