On the 1 and 2 July 2017, the 13th Open Luxembourg Nationals will take place in the Coque.

In addition to the professional Luxembourg swimmers, many international athletes will also use the FLNS (swimming association) summer championships for a final test of form on the way to the world title bouts in Budapest from 23 to 30 July.

236 athletes from 26 clubs and ten nations submitted 1,091 individual and 44 season reports. In addition to the eleven Luxemburger clubs, swimmers from Algeria, Belgium, Egypt, Germany, Iceland, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands and the USA will fight for medals and best times. Among the most well-known names are the Israeli Nevo Gal, silver medal winner at the European Championships 2016 in London in the 400m and the Icelandic Olympic champion and Vice-European champion in the 100m breaststroke, Hrafnhildur Luthersdottir.

Luxembourg's champions feature Laurent Carnol, Raphaël Stacchiotti, Julie Meynen (all SCDE), Pit Brandenburger and Monique Olivier (both SL), who will then go to the training camp in Tenerife for the direct World Cup preparation (5-15 July). Julien Henx (CNDu) will be at the start of the French Championships in Vichy and then on to the World Cup team.

For some junior swimmers, the summer championships offer the last opportunity to make the jump to the European Olympic Youth Festival from 24-28 July in Gyor, Hungary.

The competitions will begin on Saturday and Sunday morning at 9:30 am, the second section on Saturday at 16:00, on Sunday at 15:30.
