The two last winners of the International Women’s Open Tennis Tournament at Moulins-les-Metz, now named the Waves Open 57, Luxembourg’s Mandy Minella, and last year’s winner, French player, Mathilde Johansson have been announced as part of this year’s field.

The French player featured in this year’s tournament poster, and will thus be on hand to defend her title, following her upcoming participation at Roland Garros. Minella will certainly be one of her main challengers, attempting to reclaim what was hers in 2013. They have both qualified automatically for the tournament through their participation at Wimbledon last year.

The sixth edition of the tournament, which will take place between 26 June and 5 July,, already has over seventy players registered for the qualifying stage. They will be vying for a place in the final tournament draw.

Last year, Johansson defeated Bulgarian Elitsa Kostova in the final, with around 7,000 spectators watching on. Three players from the world’s top 100 took part last year, which included players from the region in France and the neighbouring areas.

Prize money for this year’s edition has risen to €24,000.
