This week Luxembourg's Mandy Minella is in Brazil to play in the Brasil Tennis Cup, a WTA International tournament, in Florianopolis.

The WTA returned to Brazil for the first time in over a decade with the inaugural Brasil Tennis Cup in Florianopolis in 2013. This year the clay-court tournament has a prize fund of $226,750 with the tournament starting on Monday.

In the Doubles, Mandy Minella is partnering Tita Torro-Flor (ESP) as top seeds. In their first-round match they overcame the challenge of Carolina Alves and Luisa Stefani (both of Brazil), 6-4, 6-2, and will meet Gabriela Ce (Bra) and Andrea Gamiz (Ven) who defeated Susanne Celik (Swe) and Quirine Lemoine (NL) 6-0, 3-6, 10-8.

In the Singles, Mandy Minella (ranked #216) is up against the 5th seed, Bethanie Mattek-Sands (US, ranked #115).
