32 year-old Gilles Muller from Leudelange is currently competing at the Atlanta Open in Georgia, USA.

The player ranked #52 in the world is seeded 7th and has won three matches in the men's singles tournament to get to the semi-finals where he is due to face 5th seed Marcos Baghdatis who is ranked #47 in the world and whom Muller has already defeated in the doubles.

On the road to the semi-finals he defeated Donald Young (USA, age 26, ranked #54), 6-2, 6-1, Jared Donaldson (USA, age 18, ranked #156), 6-3, 6-2, and Go Soeda (Jap, age 30, ranked #114), 7-5, 6-1.

The other semi-final is between John Isner (USA, age 30, ranked #19 and top seed) and Denis Kudla (USA, age 22, ranked #94, a qualifier).

In the doubles, Gilles Muller is playing alongside Colin Fleming (UK) and together they have reached the doubles semi-final; in the first round they defeated the 2nd seeds, Vasek Pospisil (Can) and Jack Sock (USA), 6-4, 4-6, 10-6, and in the second round they overame the challenge of Marcos Baghdatis (Cyprus) and Malek Jaziri (Tunisia), 7-6, 6-2.

Their semi-final opponents are Eric Butorac (USA) and Artem Sitak (NZ), the 3rd seeds.
