In this week's ATP World Tour Masters 1000 (Rogers Cup) being played in Montreal, Canada, Luxembourg's Gilles Muller is through to the 3rd round where he will face 2nd seed Andy Murray (GB).
In the first round, Gilles Muller triumphed over wild-card Philip Bester (Canada), &-2, 6-3, and in the second round he defeated the 15th seed Gael Monfils (France), 6-3, 3-6, 7-6.
Andy Murray had a bye to the 2nd round where he defeated Tommy Robredo (Spain), 6-4, 7-5.
In the other half of the draw, top seed Novak Djokovic is through to the 3rd round, but 3rd seed Stan Wawrinka (Switzerland) lost in the 2nd round to the talented but controversial Nick Kyrgios (Australia) when Wawrinka was forced to retire in the 3rd set when the match was 1-set all and 0-4 in the 3rd set.
Meanwhile, in the Women's doubles championship, Luxembourg's Mandy Minella was playing with Germany's Mona Barthel but lost in the first round the the 6th seeds, Sara Errani and Flavia Pennetta (both Italy), 6-1, 6-3.
