Luxembourg’s Gilles Muller ousted Spain’s Fernando Verdasco 7-6, 7-6 to reach the Moselle Open Quarter-Finals on Wednesday.

His impressive serving streak continued with 17 aces in the match. He will meet the winner of Thursday night’s French match up between Edouard Roger-Vasselin and two-time champion Gilles Simon.

Former two-time champion, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, defeated the 2010 finalist, Mischa Zverev, 7-6, 6-7, 6-3.

On Thursday evening, the top seed, ATP No. 4, and this year’s Roland Garros winner, Stanislas Wawrinka, will play his opening match (not before 18:00) against Dustin Brown. Following this match qualifier Edouard Roger-Vasselin will take on No. 2 seed Gilles Simon.

Gilles Muller and his compatriot Mike Scheidweiler were not so lucky in the doubles, losing to Jonathan Marray and Assam-Ul-Haq Qureshi 4-6, 6-7.
