On Tuesday, a press conference was held  to introduce the 2016 edition of the BGL BNP PARIBAS LUXEMBOURG OPEN tennis tournament at Loterie Nationale in Leudelange; the tournament will run from 15-22 October at the CK Sportcenter Kockelscheuer.

This will be the 26th edition of the tournament that started in 1991 and its 9th year as a WTA International level event.

WTA 29th ranked Andrea Petkovic was the first player whose participation has been announced. Andrea holds six WTA titles and has played the Luxembourg tournament seven times with her best result in 2012 as Semi-Finalist.

Special guest this year will be Boris Becker, former ATP No. 1 player, holder of six Grand Slam titles and coach of current ATP No. 1 Novak Djokovic. On Tuesday 8 October, Boris will participate in an Autograph Session at 18:30 in the Village Leopard Stand, followed by the “Welcome Cocktail” and “Gender Equality Talk” at 19:30 in the VIP Club.
