On Tuesday 9 August, the first 21 players signed up for the Moselle Open tennis tournament were announced at a Press Conference at the Hôtel du Departement Lorraine in Metz, France; the tournament will take place from 18-25 September at Les Arènes in Metz.

Luxembourg’s Gilles Muller has been confirmed as part of the main draw. This year the tournament will host an impressive line up representing twelve different countries and including:

- Three top 15 players: #9 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (three-time winner 2011, 2012 & 2015), #10 Dominic Thiem and #13 David Goffin (winner 2014)

- Three top 20-30 players - #25 Lucas Pouille, #28 Philipp Kohlschreiber and #30 Martin Klizan

- Six top 30-50 players -  #31 Gilles Simon (winner 2010 & 2013), #32 Benoit Paire, #37 Gilles Muller, #42 Nicolas Mahut, #47 Marcel Granollers, #48 Nicolas Almagro

- and nine top 50-75 players - #52 Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, #53 Guido Pella, #59 Malek Jaziri, #63 Iliya Marchenko, #69 Paul-Henri Mathieu, #70 Carlos Berloq, #71 Andreas Seppi, #73 Horacio Zaballos, and #75 Damir Dzumhur.

In a change from previous years, the qualifying draw has been reduced from 32 to 16 (14 direct entries and 2 wildcards), ensuring a high caliber of players. Qualifying will start on Sunday 18 September.

The Moselle Open is one of the 60 most important tournaments on the ATP circuit. It is one of the four ATP 250 tournaments in France, the others being Open 13 (Marseille), Open Sud de France (Montpellier) and Open de Nice Côte d’azur. Throughout the tournament’s history, it has been distinguished as one of the highest quality tournaments of the circuit.
