The sixth edition of the European ICT Awards winners were announced during a gala dinner last week, during the ICT Spring Conference, held at the New Conferences Centre in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

The Awards aim at rewarding the best practitioners in the ICT field. Three awards are subject to assessment by a selected jury.

Carlos Gonçalves, CIO at Société Générale took home the European CIO of the Year, which is awarded to Europe’s best CIO, for his global strategies and implemented projects, as well as his technical decisions and management skills.

Awarded to a European company for its innovation culture, innovative products or services and its outstanding contribution to its market’s technology leadership, the European ICT  Innovation of the Year went to Yapital.

The European Startup of the Year was won by Slashe, for its innovation, dynamism, influence and potential for growth in the coming years. To be eligible for this award, the company needed to be in existence for less than five years.

Co-founder of Blockchain, Nicolas Cary was rewarded for his inspiring and innovative contribution to initiate progress in the digital world, and for standing out as a visionary, leader and strategic partner within the digital world, taking home the European Digital Leader award, as a result.

Kantox won the award for best European Fintech Project, for being the European company, which gained recognition for its involvement and skills in building up a sustainable project in the financial sector.

100 European CIOs, ICT media and bloggers, marketing managers from the European ICT sector and Universities formed the jury that selected nominees. The voting process took place electronically and securely with independent supervision, thereafter.
