On Tuesday 28 June 2016, the Award Ceremony for the second Lean and Green workshop programme will be held at the Solarwind Building in Windhof.

Lean and Green was developed by NGO Connekt for companies and organisations aiming to encourage businesses and public bodies to move to a higher level of sustainability by employing cost-saving and environmentally-efficient measures.

The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure and the Cluster for Logistics, both of which are together organising the Award Ceremony, collaborated in order to implement the Label for transport and logistics companies in the Grand Duchy.

Arthur Welter, CFL multimodal, LuxairCARGO and POST were the first enterprises to receive the Lean and Green for Logistics Label, in May of last year. Arthur Welter Transports presented measures looking to reduce C02 emissions by 29.6% and began utilising a non-fossil fuel; CFL multimodal demonstrated plans to optimise truck routes and loading rates, reduce fuel consumption and develop a zero-emission fleet; LuxairCARGO reviewed its energy policy and in so doing found means of cutting CO2 emissions by 28.29%; and POST Luxembourg looked to invest in eco-driving to achieve a 23.41% CO2 emissions reductions target.

The next companies who have shown adequate means of ensuring a CO2 emissions reduction of at least 20% in a five-year span will now be announced. The programme for the evening, which will open at 17:00, will be as follows:
