The 7th Creative Young Entrepreneur Luxembourg Award 2013 (CYEL) were held this evening at the Hotel Parc Bell Vue in Luxembourg city, in an event organised by the Jeune Chambre Economique of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg a.s.b.l.

After having gathered on 24 April at the headquarter of BGL BNP Paribas, the CYEL jury members analysed the applications and selected three finalists for 2013 edition. The applications reflected the diversity of sectors represented and the image of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg as a land of entrepreneurship. Therefore, deciding between the candidates had not been an easy task for the jury.

The three finalists were (in alphabetical order): Laurent Muller, Associé / Administrateur, Muller & Associés; François Scalais, Founder & General Manager, Neo Medical Systems; Virginie Simon, CEO & Founder, MYSCIENCEWORK.

Following interventions by Robert Dennewald, Fedil President, and David Goldrake, Entrepreneur & Magician, the main business of the evening got underway and the three finalists were presented to the audience.

François Scalais was revealed as the winner of the CYEL 2013 contest and was presented with a cheque sfor €15,000 from BGL BNP Paribas. His company, Neo Medical Systems, is a pioneer in 3D screen for medical use. In second position was Virginie Simon and in third place was Laurent Muller.

All three CYEL 2013 finalists will represent Luxembourg at the CYEA (Creative Young Entrepreneur Award) world contest organised by JCI and held during the JCI world congress taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in November 2013. JCI Luxembourg recognises the spirit of young creative entrepreneurship of the three candidates.

The selection was conducted by a renowned Jury who also decided to reward Myrian Klien of Luxembourgeois.net with the Jury 2013 «coup de Cœur» award in order to support her in the business development of her company.

The Creative Young Entrepreneur Luxembourg (CYEL), run from 1 February to mid-April 2013, targeted young entrepreneurs from 18-40 years old having made outstanding use of their imagination and creativity. The promotion of the Luxembourg entrepreneurship through CYEL was possible thanks to the support of sponsors and partners.
