The China Chopsticks Business Group in Luxembourg will organise its annual luncheon on Wednesday 1 February 2016 from 12:00 to 14:00 at the Alvisse Parc Hotel (120 Route d'Echternach, L-1453 Luxembourg-Dommeldange).

the topic of the event will be "China Entrepreneurs Go Global. How to Stay Relevant to China in 2017". This past year has seen a plethora of Chinese investments into Europe and beyond, led by Wanda, Fosun, Alibaba and Midea. Who are the people behind these powerhouses and what is driving this expansion? Guest speaker Rupert Hoogewerf, chairman and chief researcher of Hurun Report, will highlight the trends behind the growing visibility of the Chinese businessman in Europe.

Rupert Hoogewerf, 46, born in Luxembourg, is probably the best-known foreigner living in China. Rupert has grown the Hurun Report to become the world’s leading researcher when it comes to understanding the Chinese high-net-worth individual, highlighted by its flagship China Rich List, as well as its events, media, investments and – since 2012 – its India business.

Rupert’s contribution to the understanding of wealth in China has earned him multiple awards, notably Neweekly magazine’s 2002 Person of the Year; the Magnolia Award in 2009, the Shanghai government’s highest honour bestowed upon foreigners; and the All-China Women’s Federation’s highest annual award for its promotion of women in business in 2010. Rupert lives in Shanghai with his wife and three children.
