On Thursday 15 October 2015, Luxinnovation will be assembling members of the public interested in design-led business innovation through its conference 'Design for Europe - What About Luxembourg?'

At the conference, experienced European professionals and business leaders will share their know-how on how design, if used properly, can provide a powerful tool to boost innovation, drive economic growth, enhance customer satisfaction through improved products and better services and yet enable companies to achieve cost savings.

The conference will take place following a report issued by the Design Council (UK) in which design was found to help companies to tap into new markets and expand their customer base through a differentiating their range of products and services. Moreover, as has been shown with the philosophy and values of some of the world's most famous companies embedded in the design of their products and services, design can be a tool in the strengthening of a company's market position and brand. This created brand recognition and allows a company to stand out from the crowd.

Secretary of State for the Economy, Francine Closener, will provide the opening speech at the conference, which will be followed by several key-notes and a round table discussion clarifying how the relevant policies in Luxembourg can help organisations to implement design to increase their competitiveness. 'Design for Europe: What About Luxembourg?' will aim to highlight the benefits that SMEs, institutions and public sector players can derive from a design-centred service and product approach.
