The evening is to inform about the latest research and developments in the fight against dementia. Doors open at 18.45 with walking dinner, the symposium starts at 19.30. All alcoholic beverages will be sold to support the good causes. Donations will support the Sahmet Hostel – Education for Girls in India and a Dementia Awareness Workshop for Teenagers in Luxembourg.

Stay informed about dementia in health policy, life course research, and medical science, and the challenges in prevention, diagnosis, and living well with dementia.

Dr. Jean-Claude Schmit, Director of Health at the Health Directorate, Health Ministry, will present the ongoing international, European and national policy efforts to improve the lives of persons living with dementia. Dr. Anja Leist (University of Luxembourg) will summarize important factors that increase cognitive reserve early in life and are able to maintain cognitive function at older ages. Dr. Carine Federspiel (ZithaSenior) will review different methods of early diagnosis of dementia and the possibilities for treatment and care. Prof. Dr. Rainer Klump, President of the University of Luxembourg, will open the symposium. René Friederici, Country Chair of Rotary in Luxembourg, will close the symposium. Dr. Michèle Vallenthini (Fedil) will moderate the event.
