The 12th edition of hack.lu - “Nothing is beyond a good hack” - attracted 420 world-class security professionals from 40 different countries to Luxembourg recently.

Following the continuous success of the event as well as the quality of the speakers and the presentations, a 13th edition is now announced: 16-19 October 2017 at the Alvisse Parc Hotel in Luxembourg-Dommeldange.

Hack.lu has positioned itself as one of the largest and most established IT conferences in Europe, where people openly talk about computer security, privacy, information technology and its cultural/technical implication on society.

This year’s Capture the Flag (CTF) captured the attention and skills of 174 teams. The winner is LC BC (Russia), followed by CS16 (Poland), and in third position, Eat Sleep Pwn Repeat (Germany). For full details, see https://ctftime.org/event/380

Additionally, two side events were offered this year:

• The 2nd MISP (Malware Information Sharing Platform & Threat Sharing ) Summit took place on Monday 17 October see https://2016.hack.lu/misp-summit/;

• A CryptoParty4Kids that teaches children (8-12 years old) to make their first steps in the hacking culture and get introduced to the basics of practical cryptography.
