At their 10th anniversary celebration in June 2015, the Institut Luxembourgeois des Administrateurs (ILA) presented a report on “Group Interest and subsidiary governance in Luxembourg” including recommendations which could be considered by both the group boards and the board of their subsidiaries; continuing with the effort to promote best practices in the field of corporate governance in Luxembourg and to further explore the roles and responsibilities of subsidiary boards, ILA jointly organised, with with IBF, the conference on “Corporate Governance in a Group Environment” on 7 February.

National and international guest speakers included the Honorary Director General of the Luxembourg financial regulator (CSSF), Jean Guill, Wolfgang Dürr (Managing Director of DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale Luxembourg S.A.), Yves Maas (Managing Director and CEO of Credit Suisse S.A.), Stefan Schwab (President of the Management Board of the DZ Privatbank S.A.) and Thomas Feld (Partner at KMPG).

The great interest that this conference generated showed once again the importance of the topic. More than 120 participants followed the panel discussion and had the chance to ask questions to the panelists during the conference and at the networking cocktail thereafter.

The conference was excellent, I was impressed by the high profile of some of the people in the audience” said one of the participants.
